Find out more about how our partnership is fueling the future of digital art.
Culturespaces is leading the digital art revolution. The French company is pioneering the creation of digital art centres and immersive digital exhibitions worldwide. Every year, it welcomes millions of visitors through its doors across nine sites worldwide.
Achieving true efficiency
In 2022, Culturespaces opened a new cultural centre in Amsterdam, Fabrique des Lumières, which uses cutting-edge technology to create immersive exhibitions devoted to some of the most celebrated figures in art history.
Despite challenging circumstances after the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisation continued to invest heavily in the technology infrastructure for the new art centres. Upon reopening to the public, it became evident that they required access to digital tools, rather than ownership of devices, to provide the best customer experience.
BNP Paribas 3 Step IT’s Circular Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) solution, aimed at businesses seeking to gain end-to-end control of tech devices, perfectly fits Cuturespaces’ needs.
BNP Paribas 3 Step IT Netherlands bought Culturespaces’ tech assets through a lease-back agreement, allowing them to transition to an as-a-service model smoothly. The move allowed Culturespaces to take the significant capital they had invested in technology off their balance sheet, immediately improving their cash flow and giving them the option of regular tech refreshes and the peace of mind of predictable quarterly payments.
A matter of control
Culturespaces also needed an efficient solution to control its many tech assets in its various locations – both financially and operationally – and manage digital devices and data responsibly throughout their lifecycle. BNP Paribas 3 Step IT’s asset management platform, Asset IQ, provides Culturespaces with detailed information about its devices. It has also helped the organisation digitise its procurement process, including verifying and approving supplier invoices.
Opening a new art centre
In 2023, Culturespaces opened a new digital art centre in Dortmund, Germany. Naturally, they contacted BNP Paribas 3 Step IT to buy their tech assets by extending their existing lease-back agreement.
Marc Tavernier, Project Manager, Culturespaces, said: “The German team took over the project quickly and efficiently. Their reactivity enabled us to finalise the contract for the Dortmund centre in a timely manner. I believe our partnership with BNP Paribas 3 Step IT will allow us to continue innovating and accessing new technology, allowing us to work closely with more digital artists.”
Guillaume Lépine, International Sales Manager, BNP Paribas 3 Step IT, said: “Our purpose is to support our customers in managing their tech assets as efficiently as possible. We’re excited to continue working with Culturespaces across new developments, such as their latest digital art centre, Port des Lumières, which will open soon in Hamburg, Germany.”
